Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

program overview

Career opportunities for nurses with advanced degrees are growing exponentially. The School of Nursing offers a graduate curriculum leading to the Master of Science (MS) degree in Nursing. This degree is available to qualified applicants who desire advanced professional roles in nursing. The graduate program requires a minimum of 36 units and is designed for either full-time or part-time study.

Concentrations

A Master of Science (MS) degree in Nursing is offered for the following concentrations:

• Advanced Practice Nursing of Adults and the Elderly (NP/CNS)
• Nursing Leadership in Health Care Systems

* We have suspended admissions to our Women’s Health Program at SDSU and do not expect to reopen it in the near future.

Professional Preparation

Graduates of the nursing program are prepared for advanced professional roles as nurse clinicians, researchers, educators, and leaders in global healthcare.

NOTE: All arrangements for clinical experiences and preceptors are made by the School of Nursing.
