SDSU Imperial Valley and Imperial Valley College’s joint student housing project will host up to 80 students at SDSU Imperial Valley, Calexico. The project marks the first student housing project at SDSU Imperial Valley and will be open to students enrolled at either SDSU Imperial Valley or Imperial Valley College. This collaborative community brings students from both institutions together, representing a significant step in expanding opportunities for students to pursue their academic success in the Imperial Valley.

Housing Eligibility

SDSU Imperial Valley housing is open to current Imperial Valley College and SDSU Imperial Valley students. To qualify for SDSU Imperial Valley Housing, students must:

  • Be enrolled at SDSU Imperial Valley or Imperial Valley College
  • Take an average of 12 degree-applicable units per semester (exceptions may apply).
  • Meet low-income household criteria of at least one of the following: Pell Grant, Cal Grant, California Community College Promise Grant or California Dream Act (AB 540)
  • Meet income requirements

Graduate students may also qualify if they meet the criteria listed above.

Floor Plans

Imperial Valley Student Housing offers four-bedroom, two-bathroom units with double- and single-occupancy room types (4-8 residents per unit). The license agreement term length is 11.5 months (through summer). Floor plans are for reference purposes only. Actual room setup may vary by unit. Included furniture: Bed (mattress and bed frame), desk, chair, closet/wardrobe, dining table and fridge/freezer.

License Agreement and Rates

License Agreement 
The license agreement term length for SDSU Imperial Valley Housing is 11.5 months (August 2026 to July 2027).

By signing the Student Housing License Agreement, a student is indicating that they are an adult who is mature and capable of handling the responsibilities of living on campus, which include being accountable for their behavior, recognizing the compromises necessary when living with others and confronting someone who violates their rights. The terms and conditions, as well as policies and regulations, govern all residents. By completing and signing the license agreement, a student agrees to all of these provisions. Please read these provisions carefully before submitting a completed license agreement on the Housing Portal.
