WELCOME TO THE ACADEMIC LEARNING CENTER!

The Academic Learning Center was developed as a way to support students in their educational careers. The center provides learning support and services free of charge. Our services include study skills, study groups, workshops, mentoring, and tutoring. All SDSU IV students are encouraged to use any of the ALC services for their learning benefit.

Mission Statement

Our mission and philosophy is to help and guide students to become independent and efficient learners, have available resources to propel them to success and have equitable practices toward a student’s learning environment.

Our Story

The Academic Learning Center was created in January 2020. The Center was comprised of seven tutors. In March 2020, the center was forced to transition quickly and efficiently into online tutoring. Since then, the ALC has been operating as both online and in-person tutoring. The center has also seen a growth in hiring of tutors with the average of 15 tutors per academic year.
