The Advanced Practice Nursing of Adults & the Elderly concentration offers dual preparation as

  • Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP)

AND

  • Adult Gerontology Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

Upon graduation students may apply for NP and CNS certification with the California Board of Registered Nursing. All graduates are eligible to apply for the following national certifications:

  • ANCC: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC)
  • AANP: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (A-GNP)
  • AACN: Acute Care CNS-Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACCNS-AG)
