Students may use financial aid to help cover some or all of their on-campus housing costs. Depending on your financial aid package, grants, scholarships, loans and other forms of assistance may significantly reduce the amount you pay for housing.

Housing Rates

The rates below are for the 2026-27 academic year and cover the full 11.5-month license agreement term. The SDSU Imperial Valley license agreement begins on August 20, 2026 and ends on July 30, 2027. Rates are listed per resident and include furniture and utilities.

The housing rate depends on whether you select a double-occupancy bedroom (two residents per bedroom) or a single-occupancy bedroom (one resident per bedroom). Depending on bedroom occupancy, each apartment accommodates between four (4) and eight (8) residents. Please note: Single-occupancy room types will have only one resident assigned to the bedroom. However, the bedroom will remain furnished as a double-occupancy bedroom, including two beds, desks and wardrobes. No furniture will be removed.

Rates are subject to change. The first installment includes an additional $40 service fee to cover administrative and processing costs for housing payments.

Payments

Unlike a typical monthly rent agreement, housing payments are collected in installments. These installments are all-inclusive and cover furniture, utilities (electricity included up to a monthly per-resident cap), amenities and residential support services.

Housing charges will be billed in ten installments, which are scheduled for August through November, then January through June. Housing bills are issued electronically and are due on the 20th of the month.

Double Room Type Installments:

• August 20 - 1st installment due, $822 total ($782 + $40 service fee)
• September 20 - 2nd installment due, $782 total
• October 20 - 3rd installment due, $782 total
• November 20 - 4th installment due, $782 total
• January 20 - 5th installment due, $782 total
• February 20 - 6th installment due, $782 total
• March 20 - 7th installment due, $782 total
• April 20 - 8th installment due, $782 total
• May 20 - 9th installment due, $782 total
• June 20 - 10th installment due, $782 total

Single Room Type Installments:

• August 20 - 1st installment due, $1,018 total ($978 + $40 service fee)
• September 20 - 2nd installment due, $978 total
• October 20 - 3rd installment due, $978 total
• November 20 - 4th installment due, $978 total
• January 20 - 5th installment due, $978 total
• February 20 - 6th installment due, $978 total
• March 20 - 7th installment due, $978 total
• April 20 - 8th installment due, $978 total
