Eligibility

SDSU Imperial Valley housing is open to current Imperial Valley College and SDSU Imperial Valley students, including eligible graduate students.

To qualify for SDSU Imperial Valley Student Housing, students must:

  • Be enrolled at SDSU Imperial Valley or Imperial Valley College
  • Take an average of 12 degree-applicable units per semester (exceptions may apply)

Students who meet low-income household criteria through one of the following programs — the Pell Grant, Cal Grant, California Community College Promise Grant or California Dream Act (AB 540) — will receive priority consideration as part of the program’s affordability focus. Students who do not receive these forms of aid are still eligible to apply and live in SDSU Imperial Valley Student Housing.

Immunization

All students who live at SDSU Imperial Valley Student Housing are required to provide proof of all mandatory immunizations prior to move-in. For more information on immunization requirements for all residents, visit the Immunization Requirements webpage.

Roommate Assignments

San Diego State University Office of Housing Administration (OHA) aims to pair students who attend the same campus, either Imperial Valley College or SDSU Imperial Valley. When possible, students will be paired with others who are in a similar age group, either under 21 or 21 and older. All units are assigned based on each resident’s self-identified gender and mixed-gender units are not available.

If a student already has someone they would like to live with, they may indicate that preference in the OHA Housing Portal application once available. All students must meet eligibility requirements to live on campus.
