What are the Associated Students?

The Associated Students (A.S.) is the representative governing body of all students attending San Diego State University – Imperial Valley. It is our duty to empower and advocate their concerns. We strive to organize and promote positive experiences to enhance the university life of all Imperial Valley students.  

Mission Statement

To support the mission of San Diego State University, we the Associated Students, San Diego State University - Imperial Valley, create, promote and fund social, recreational, cultural and educational events both on campus and in the community; advocate for student interests, provide growth opportunities; and participate in shared governance.


Associated Students, San Diego State University - Imperial Valley is a unifying and empowering student-directed council dedicated to serve and involve Imperial Valley students at San Diego State University by enhancing the college experience that leads to a higher quality of life during and after matriculation.


A.S. SDSU-IV values efforts by and on behalf of students that promote the following ideals:
