Tickets

Students who graduated in fall 2025 or applied for spring/summer 2026 graduation by the February 3, 2026 filing deadline will have the opportunity to claim a limited number of guest tickets for our commencement ceremony. Guest seating will be GENERAL SEATING. Guests can take any open seat in designated sections of the quad. The allotment is determined by the total number of graduates registered for the ceremony and the maximum seating capacity, which cannot be adjusted. Guests can take any open seat in designated sections of the quad.
All guest tickets are complimentary and will be digital/mobile tickets.

All guests who are 1 year of age and older are required to have a ticket to attend commencement. The only exception to this rule are babies under the age of 1 who must be seated on an adult’s lap.

Guest Tickets

We will be using e-tickets for our SDSU Imperial Valley Commencement. Beginning Monday, March 9, 2026, guest tickets will be available electronically via Tassel. To be eligible to receive guest tickets, graduates must have completed their registration with Tassel. Each student can claim up to three tickets

To access your tickets, please log in to the Tassel website using the same process you used to register for commencement. Open your Tassel registration page and scroll to the bottom to claim your three guest tickets. Graduates will have until Monday, April 13, to claim their tickets online. Any tickets not claimed after Monday, April 13 will be released for additional guest ticket distribution on a first come, first served basis.

Commencement Registration

SDSU is partnering with Tassel to provide candidate registration and prerecorded, professional name reading.

Applying for graduation and registering to attend your commencement ceremony are two different but related activities. Applying and paying your graduation fee ensures that your degree will be evaluated after coursework is complete for the semester in which you applied to graduate and your degree will be conferred if appropriate. Registering for attendance at your ceremony ensures that tickets will be issued for your guests. Attending commencement is not, in itself, indicative of all degree requirements being met.

Candidates will receive an email to their @sdsu email account on Thursday, March 5 with a Tassel registration link. Candidates can also register directly on Tassel on or after March 5. The last day to register for commencement is Friday, April 17, 2026.
