  • Bilingual speaking both English and Spanish
  • Commit to the Ambassador Program for two semesters
  • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Attend Ambassador training sessions and meetings each semester
  • Attend at least three (3) event hours each month to remain in good standing
  • Serve as a positive representation of SDSU-IV

Student Assistant IT Department

Assist the IT department with the updating of computers in the computer labs and smart classrooms, and test smart classroom for correct functionality. Assist the IT deparment answering the helpdesk phone, take detail messages of all calls and relay to the IT technicians, and assist students with computer use.
$16.50 per hour

Laborer Support Student Assistant

  • Assists Custodial Services, Grounds Services.
  • Maintenance Services and other trade staff in the accomplishment of their work (projects, events, on-going programs).
  • Assist in campus event set-up, and performs other related tasks as assigned by the Facility Services and Projects Assistant Director or designee to include loading and unloading bulk supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Custodial: assist in sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, and waxing/polishing floors, vacuuming and shampooing rugs and carpeting.
  • Assist in emptying baskets and recycling containers.
  • Assist in cleaning/washing woodwork and plastic/laminate counters.
  • Assist in cleaning, washing and polishing furniture, cleaning whiteboards, cleaning and dusting light fixtures, replacing fluorescent/led/incandescent bulbs.
  • Assist in moving and arranging furniture and power washing assigned areas.
  • Assist with moving heavy objects such as furniture, equipment, materials, and supplies. Grounds.
  • Assist in planting, cultivating, fertilizing, and watering, shrubs, hedges, trees, lawns, and flowers.
  • Assist in raking leaves, hoeing weeds, cleaning trash from assigned areas including parking lots.
  • Assist in preparing soils for planting and in maintaining hoses, sprinklers, tools, supplies and equipment in proper condition and repair.
  • Assist in pruning trees. Assist in weeding, use tractor lawnmower and use power tools. Maintenance: clean equipment, appliances, drains, gutters and motor vehicles.
  • Assist in the construction site/remodel tear down and set up; removing debris.
  • Assist in lifting and transporting equipment, materials, and supplies up to 50 pounds (in excess of 50 pounds with assistance).
  • Loading, unloading, set-up and break-down of chairs, tables, canopies, platforms and equipment.
  • Assist in the preparing and lining of quad area for special events.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

$16.50 per hour

Student Health Services Front Desk Student Assistant

  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the front office.
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office.
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls.
  • Provide basic and accurate information in person and via phone/e-mail.
  • Schedule appointments for students. 
  • Notify staff of student/appointment arrival.
  • Assist staff with documents and information.
  • Handle queries via phone and e-mail.
  • Take and ensure messages are passed to the appropriate staff member in time.
  • Sanitize the reception area.
  • Assist with Student Health Service Promotion
  • Assist with the Student Health Services event planning and facilitation
  • Other duties as assigned
